Bexley District was formed in October 2011 by the merger of four districts within the Borough of Bexley.

The management of Bexley Scout District is split into two elements, overseen by the District Lead Volunteer who is a uniformed leader. Delivery of Scouting to young people is managed by the District Leadership Team which focuses on supporting Group Leadership Teams, delivery of the national programme, youth events and activities.
The Trustee Board oversees the governance of the District.
